The “Borders ratings” above are based on the results of monthly Borders Chess Tournaments. First-time competitors use their regular United States Chess Federation ratings, or if not USCF members, an estimated rating based on past chess experience. After each club tournament, game results are entered into the USCF Ratings Calculator at www.uschess.org/ratings/calculator.html to calculate updated club ratings. USCF ratings given by first-time competitors are verified by checking the USCF ratings list at www.64.com/cgi-bin/ratings.pl.

USCF membership is not required to participate in most Borders chess tournaments or other club activities.
